Cain Velasquez Now Eligible For Parole

Cain Velasquez is officially eligible for parole.
His parole eligibility was originally listed as March 2026, but prisoners can accrue time off a sentence for participating in rehabilitative programs.
Velasquez is currently serving time in prison after pleading no-contest for attempted murder following a February 2022 incident where he went on a high-speed car chase and fired several rounds from a handgun at a car containing a man named Harry Goularte, who is accused of sexually molesting Velasquez’s son at a daycare owned by Goularte’s mother.
Goularte’s stepfather Paul Bender was the only one struck by a bullet after multiple rounds were fired. He sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Velasquez pled no-contest in October 2024 and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Velasquez is serving his sentence at the Correctional Training Facility.
Velasquez is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion who went 14-3 in his MMA career. He last fought in February 2019, losing to Francis Ngannou. He had a stint in WWE after his MMA career, appearing on the first episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX and eventually facing Brock Lesnar.
