MMA

Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit hasn’t been seen inside of the Octagon since being finished via TKO by Damien Maia at UFC On Fox 21.

The former champion has now been away for over 13 months, but it appears that the long layoff is about the come to an end.

Condit made the request to fight again through a single tweet:

While there are no UFC events scheduled for the month of January, there are currently five UFC events scheduled for the month of December. Those five events scheduled for December are the UFC Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale, UFC 218, UFC Fight Night Fresno, UFC On Fox 26 and UFC 219.

When Condit does get his return to the Octagon set, the fight is going to be looking to pick up his first win in the UFC since defeating Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67 in May 2015.

It has also been over five years since Condit has held gold in the UFC, because he won the UFC Interim Welterweight Title when he defeated Nick Diaz by unanimous decision at UFC 143.
