Cat Zingano holds a victory over current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes, she defeated her by third round TKO at UFC 178 in September of 2014.
However, Nunes was able to do something that Zingano wasn’t able to do, which is to defeat former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 207.
Zingano isn’t to pleased with comments that Nunes made after the bout.
“I don’t understand why those girls lost (to) Ronda Rousey,” Nunes said. “I knew since my first fight in the UFC I can beat Ronda Rousey.”
Zingano posted the following statement to her Twitter account:
I'm not petitioning a rematch yet @Amanda_Leoa I'll earn it. You're disrespectful of @RondaRousey & I detest you being ungrateful @ufc

Zingano hasn’t earned a victory in over two years, dropping fights to Rousey at UFC 184 and then dropping a decision to Juliana Pena at UFC 200. Zingano has been a champion before in her career, as she is a former Ring Of Fire, Phenoms MMA and Outlaws MMA Women’s Bantamweight Titles, she has yet to capture the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title.
Nunes has yet to respond to Zingano’s tweet, she is expected to make her next title defense against the winner of Juliana Pena/Valentina Shevchenko, which will headline this month’s UFC On Fox 23 card.
