Chad Mendes To Make BKFC Debut vs. Joshua Alvarez In February

Former UFC title challenger Chad Mendes is expected to make his BKFC debut on February 19 against Joshua Alvarez in Hollywood, Florida.

Mendes revealed the date via a post on his Instagram account, with MMA Junkie being the first to report the news of Alvarez being his expected opponent and that the bout is expected to take place at 155 pounds. Although the promotion has yet to officially confirm anything regarding the booking themselves. Mendes hasn't competed since December 2018 where he lost via a second-round TKO to current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 232. Alvarez meanwhile is 1-1 in his two BKFC appearances and dropped a unanimous decision to Arthur Walcott-Ceesay at BKFC 22 in his latest outing.
