Chuck Liddell Thinks BJ Penn’s Next Fight Should Be Canceled

Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn was knocked out recently after getting involved in another bar room brawl.

UFC Hall Of Fame member Chuck Liddell believes that Penn’s upcoming fight against Nik Lentz should be canceled so Penn can recover from his injuries.

“I was told he got knocked out,” Liddell said to TMZ Sports (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “If he got knocked out, then I think that cancels the fight. I mean, you’ve got to take some time off after that and recover. He’s going to have to at least postpone it for a little bit.”

The bout between Lentz and Penn hasn’t been given a date at this time, it is unknown as to when it will happen.

Liddell has a method to dealing with hecklers and it may be something that Penn should adopt.

“I usually have fun with them,” Liddell said. “I don’t get that problem very much and I usually just joke around with them. I have a good time with it, usually. It just really isn’t worth it at this point.”

Penn has proclaimed his innocence in the bar room fight, with a representative saying the unknown knockout artist was the one who instigated things.
