Claudia Gadelha Wants Rematch With Carla Esparza, Responds To Greasing Allegations

MMA

Claudia Gadelha competed last night in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris, defeating Angela Hill by split decision.

A victorious Gadelha would call for a rematch with former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza after the bout, which garnered the following response on Twitter from Esparza:

What Esparza is referring to about the grease is that the former champion accused Gadelha of greasing in their first meeting at UFC 225, which is a fight Gadelha won by split decision.

Gadelha, in response to the greasing accusations, says that all Esparza is making is excuses about the loss in their first meeting.

“Man, it’s 2020,” Gadelha told MMA Junkie. “This sport is evolving so much. Come on. I have the commission at least following me from the time I step in the octagon till the time the fight is finished. How the (expletive) am I going to grease? Carla Esparza, stop with the (expletive) excuses. Let’s get back in there again.”

There is no word yet on when the potential rematch could go down, as both Gadelha and Esaprza competed this past week in the three pack of UFC events in Jacksonville.
