Cody Garbrandt Says He’s A Win Away From A Title Shot

Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt is in the midst of a three fight losing streak and he hasn?t picked up a victory in nearly three years.

Despite the recent slump, a soon to be returning Garbrandt believes he is a win away from a shot at the UFC Bantamweight Title.

?I starch one more guy, I?m back to fighting Henry,? he said to MMA Junkie. ?I?ve been up the mountain before, and I?m coming back.?

Garbrandt?s last victory came at UFC 207, where he scored a unanimous decision win over Dominick Cruz to win the UFC Bantamweight Title

The former bantamweight champion also believes that fighting in the Octagon is never about his opponent, but a battle versus himself.

?I believe I am the best, and you?ve got to prove to yourself that you are the best,? he said. ?It?s always me vs. me; it?s never about my adversary. If I?m good with myself, and I go in there at peace with myself, that guy across there is going to have a bad night.?

There is no word yet on when Garbrandt, who has been battling some injuries, is due back in the Octagon.
