Colby Covington Calls Tyron Woodley’s Callout Of Conor McGregor “Embarrassing”

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley recently called out former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor.

Colby Covington is a former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion and he says Woodley’s callout was embarrassing.

UFC 300 Weigh Ins

“It’s embarrassing, man,” Covington told MMA Junkie. “Tyrone doing what he does best – embarrassing himself. He’s calling out a (155) pounder, a guy that’s below him that has no aspirations to fight him. The thing about Tyron, he’s not a draw. No one cares about him. The fans don’t want to see him fight. He’s boring inside the cage and outside the cage.”

McGregor recently announced his retirement from MMA, making the Woodley callout for a fight seemingly impossible to put together now.

Covington echoes those sentiments, saying that Woodley isn’t getting a big money fight against McGregor.

“He’s not going to get a big money fight with Conor,” Covington said. “He’s not a draw. He couldn’t even sell 100,000 pay-per-views by himself. Why’s Conor going to give him the spotlight to fame and money?”

Woodley hasn’t competed since UFC 235, where he lost the UFC Welterweight Title to Kamaru Usman.
