The Irishman has turned down a role in the XXX: Return Of Xander Cage film and director Guy Ritchie recently revealed that McGregor turned down a role in his new King Arthur movie.

“We even went after him for a part in the movie but he wasn’t having any of it. Was training for a fight at the time, couldn’t take his attention away from that. But you can see in his presence, in his demeanor, he’s got that swagger, that real appealing cockiness. It’s an unmistakable spark,” Ritchie told the Irish Sun.

While McGregor hasn’t appeared in many films, the fighter did appear as a character in the Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare video game.

Ritchie also admits that McGregor’s fighting style did influence some of the fight scenes in his movie.

“Preparing for the action scenes [in King Arthur], we watched a lot of McGregor fight footage because his style was what we were after. That very intense, singular, lightning fast, juggernaut trademark technique was perfect and we modelled Arthur’s physicality on that,” Ritchie said.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword debuted at #3 in the weekend of it’s release, mostly to negative reviews.
