Bellator will be making its return to Hawaii for the first time since December 2019, as Bellator 278 and 279 are set to take place at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 22 and 23.
KHON2 News' Christian Shimabuku was the first to report the news of Bellator's return to Hawaii this spring, although the promotion themselves have yet to confirm anything regarding either event or the following fight bookings. No matchups have been revealed for the Bellator 278 card on April 22, but the Bellator 279 event on April 23 is set to feature two title fights in its headlining bouts. Reigning Bellator women's featherweight champion Cris Cyborg and Arlene Blencowe are expected to clash in a rematch from their first fight back at Bellator 249, while Bellator bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis will take on Raufeon Stots to kickoff the Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix.

Also on the card is the expected return of former Bellator flyweight champion and Honolulu native, Ilima-Lei Macfarlane as she will take on Justine Kish, and former Bellator and RIZIN bantamweight champion, Kyoji Horiguchi, is scheduled to face former Bellator bantamweight title challenger Patchy Mix in the opening round of the Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix.
