Dan Henderson is preparing for what may be the final fight of his historic professional MMA career, as he challenges Michael Bipsing, the man he first defeated at UFC 100, for the UFC Middleweight Title.
In between training for the fight, Henderson has found some time to talk with the folks at MMA Junkie to answer the question about a potential future friendship with the champion.
“It’s not like I dislike the guy. I’m not a fan of guys who run their mouths like he does. I don’t know him personally. So who knows? It’s nothing personal at all. This is all business and a sport to me. I’m going to go out there – even if I like the guy – I’m going to go out there and try to knock his head off because that’s what we do” said Henderson.
Henderson was also asked about the purpose behind accepting the fight, and says he's just doing what his fans want.
“That’s basically what this fight is – it’s a fight the fans wanted to see. We get to do it again, and hopefully I can come close to doing what I did last time to him” said Henderson.
Henderson also talked about his last chance to capture a UFC championship, which is the only major title he has never captured.
“It’s something that’s been on my bucket list before I retired – to get a (UFC) belt. I didn’t think I’d have this opportunity again, so I’m every thankful and making sure I make the most of the opportunity” said Henderson.
UFC 204 takes place on Saturday, October 8t from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England with Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson headlining.
