Dan Lambert Says Joanna Jedrzejczyk Will Only Return For A Title Fight

Former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has competed since the co-main event of UFC 248, where she suffered a split decision loss to UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Zhang Weili.

ATT owner Dan Lambert doesn’t think that Jedrzejczyk will fight again, unless it is for a title bout.

“It was a great fight and everyone wants to see it again. I think the UFC is leaning towards giving Rose the next shot so Joanna will sit back and see what happens. I don’t think a lot makes sense besides fighting for the title,” Lambert said on BJ Penn Radio (via Tim Burke of Bloody Elbow).

Four of Jedrzejczyk’s last six bouts in the UFC have been title fights and she has lost every one of those championship encounters.

Lambert doesn’t see any other scenario in which Jedrzejczyk fights, unless it is for UFC gold.

“I would be surprised if she fights again other than a title shot. I don’t know another fight that makes sense,” says Lambert.

There has been no comment from Jedrzejczyk on her fighting future, but the fighter remains ranked #3 in the UFC Women’s Strawweight Division.
