Dana White Calls Nate Diaz A “Needle Mover”

Nate Diaz returned after a two-plus year hiatus to score a unanimous decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 241.

UFC President Dana White was impressed by what happened in the co-main event, calling Diaz a needle mover.

“Yeah, it’s pretty tough to deny,” White said at the UFC 241 post-fight press conference (via Steven Marrocco & Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “He’s a needle mover now.”

Diaz and White have had their issues in the past, but White may have turned a new leaf over with the Stockton native.

The needle mover acknowledges the past issues with White, but is glad to see that the UFC President made light of his place in the sport.

“He knew then, too,” Diaz said. “But that’s not a good business move to tell me I’m the (expletive), because then I’m going to be like, ‘Give me the (expletive) money. Give me some ‘I’m the (expletive) money.’ You feel me? He had to do what he had to do, so I ain’t mad at him later for that. But it’s cool that he’s acknowledging the fact.”

There is no word yet on what is next for Diaz, who did call out Jorge Masvidal for a bout during his UFC 241 post-fight interview.
