We are just a few hours away from UFC 251, which is headlined by a trio of title fights in the welterweight, featherweight and bantamweight divisions.
UFC President Dana White says that UFC 251 is trending higher than a Conor McGregor fight.
“This is trending off the charts,” White said during his UFC 251 media scrum (via Jesse Holland of MMA Mania). “This thing is trending higher than a Conor McGregor fight. The only that this fight is comparable to is Conor vs. Khabib.”
There is a lot of star power on the card as well, outside of the three title fights, as Jessica Andrade, Paige VanZant, Rose Namajunas, Volkan Oezdemir and others also will partake in tonight’s event.
White also says that the UFC Store has already sold more merchandise in the first half of 2020 than it did in all of 2019.
“I’ll give you an interesting stat: Our UFC store has sold more merchandise already now than we did in all of 2019. We already beat 2019 with merchandize. This thing is trending as big of a fight as I’ve ever seen in my entire career,” said White.
UFC 251 takes place tonight from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
