Dana White Says Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker II "Makes Sense Right Now”

UFC President Dana White is interested in pursuing a rematch between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker.

Whittaker scored a unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier in the co-main event of UFC 254. It is a win that could give Whittaker a second chance at UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, according to Dana White.

White reveals that while Adesanya has plenty of options in front of him, a rematch with Whittaker does make sense.

"It's a fight that makes sense right now, like I said Adesanya has a lot of options, the fight that makes sense right now is Robert Whittaker,” White said at the UFC 254 post-fight press conference (via Submission Radio).

Adesanya and Whittaker met for the first time at UFC 243 in October of 2019, with Adesanya scoring a second-round knockout win to capture the middleweight strap. Whittaker has won two straight since the loss to Adesanya, with those wins coming over Darren Till and the aforementioned Cannonier.
