Dana White Says Daniel Cormier & Stipe Miocic Have Agreed To A Third Fight

UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic and former two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier have met twice before, with Cormier winning at UFC 226 and Miocic winning at UFC 241.

A third fight between the two seemed inevitable and UFC President Dana White says that both have agreed to a rubber match.

“100%. That’s what we’re waiting for right now,” White said on The Rich Eisen Show (via Clyde Aidoo of MMA News). “Stipe’s still hurt. Stipe got pretty busted up in that fight against Cormier, the last one. So we’re waiting for him to heal up, and they’ve both agreed to that fight.”

Cormier had previously stated that his next fight would be a retirement bout and it looks like that will come against the UFC Heavyweight Champion. The UFC currently has pay-per-view main events set through UFC 249 in April, so unless the heavyweight championship bout is part of a double header, UFC 250 in May seems like the earliest date for the rubber match.

There has been no comment at this time from either Cormier or Miocic as to the status of a potential third bout.
