UFC President Dana White says he talked to Till about whom the fighter wanted to face next and Till chose Gastelum.
“We did [talk to him about it], he said ‘that’s the fight I want’. We went to him and said ‘are you sure this is the fight you want?’,” White said to MMA Fighting. “He’s moving up, are you sure Gastelum is the fight [you want]? He says that’s the fight I want. Love it.”
White did recently admit that Till may have been pushed to soon, but the fighter is facing the #4 ranked middleweight in his divisional debut.
The UFC President also believes that Till has gone back to the drawing board to improve himself as a fighter.
“I think Till went back to the drawing board. He’s a young guy. After the win over (Donald Cerrone), we may have pushed him too soon. Let him get back and work on the things he needs to work on. He’s going to be around,” says White.
