Dana White Says “Fight Island” Could Be Ready By June 27

It may not be too much longer for MMA fans and fighters alike to be a part of “Fight Island,” at least if UFC President Dana White is to be believed.

White recently revealed that “Fight Island” could be ready to hold events on June 27, which is just over three weeks away.

“The first fight on ‘Fight Island’ is probably going to be around June 27 – not July,” White said on Eddie Hearn’s Talk The Talk podcast (via Simon Head of MMA Junkie).

If White’s assumption turns out to be accurate, it would mean that UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker is going to be the first card on “Fight Island.”

The UFC President knows that “Fight Island” is going to be expensive, but White promises that he will pull it off.

“Let me tell you about ‘Fight Island,'” he said. “‘Fight Island’ is so (expletive) expensive, and so (expletive) crazy and almost impossible to pull off. When you’re talking about planes flying people in and you have to quarantine people and all these things that we’re going through – it’s (expletive) insane to be even trying to do this. But I promise you, we will do it and we will pull it off.”

A location for “Fight Island” hasn’t been revealed at this time and it is unknown when that information will get released.
