Dana White Says He Hasn’t Spoken To Conor McGregor Since Retirement Announcement

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor announced another retirement from professional MMA competition a short time after UFC 250.

UFC President Dana White, who admitted that he was shocked about McGregor’s retirement, has yet to speak with the former fighter.

“No,” White said after UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Volkov (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “Conor McGregor is retired.”

McGregor is on his third retirement, with the fighter stating that a lack of exciting fights is what led to the most recent retirement.

The former two division UFC champion is arguably one of the most popular fighters in MMA history, but McGregor has only won just one fight in the last three-plus years, which came over Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246. McGregor also crossed over into boxing a few years back, suffering a tenth round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather in what was dubbed “The Money Fight.”

There hasn’t been much chatter on McGregor’s end since announcing his retirement and it is unknown at this time if McGregor will unretire for a third time and return to the Octagon.
