Dana White Says Max Holloway Could Get An Immediate Rematch

Former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway lost the gold to Alexander Volkanovski in the co-main event of UFC 245.

UFC President Dana White was in attendance at the event and he believes that Holloway could get an immediate rematch against the newly crowned champion.

“He looked good, and that market is massive for us, so maybe we do that rematch in Australia,” White said at the UFC 245 post-fight press conference (via Danny Segura & Ken Hathaway of MMA Junkie). “I don’t know – that’s just off the top of my head.”

There are no UFC events booked in Australia at the moment, but the promotion does return to New Zealand in early 2020.

White is not going to be downplaying Volkanovski’s achievement in any way, calling the fighter’s victory a “big deal.”

“For Volkanovski to come in and beat Max Holloway, it’s a big deal – it’s a big deal to do that,” White said.

Holloway held the UFC Featherweight Title for over three years (UFC 206 - UFC 245) and made four successful defenses before losing it to Volkanovski.
