Dana White Wants Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno In December, Bantamweight Title Fight Off

Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno just competed last night at UFC 255, but if Dana White has his way, both men was fight each other next month at UFC 256.

The reason behind the title fight being booked so quickly is that the scheduled main event for UFC 256 between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling is off according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN. Helwani notes the title bout is off due to personal reasons on Yan’s behalf, no word has been given yet for when the title bout will get rescheduled.

Helwani also notes that if the bout does come together, it would mark the quickest turnaround for a defending champion and challenger in UFC history.

White also stated during the UFC 255 press conference that Figueiredo, who hails from Brazil, will stay in Las Vegas for the time being.

“We’re going to keep (Figueiredo) here,” White said (via MMA Junkie). “He’s not going back to Brazil. We’re going to turn him right around (in) December. That’s what we’re working on.”
