Donald Cerrone has seen a lot of success come his way in the UFC Welterweight Division, earning a record of 4-3-0 in the division.
However, the fighter has decided to make a change in the form of a return to the UFC Lightweight Division.
?I?m there five [more] years,? said Cerrone on The Fighter & The Kid Podcast. ?I?m going back to 155. I?m only 175, I?ve been waking up at 175 everyday so it?s like pffft, I?m fine. I?m more focused. At 170, I can just not train and f**k off. I put more into it at 155 so let?s do it, let?s have a couple more fights. I probably won?t take 20 a year anymore. I?m probably gonna take it down a little bit.?
Cerrone made his way into the UFC as a lightweight and fought for the UFC Lightweight Title at UFC On Fox 17, losing to then champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
?Cowboy's? last fight at welterweight was a loss to Darren Till at UFC Fight Night Gdansk, which left Cerrone with quite the impression of Till.
?It wasn?t any disrespect to him, I just honestly had no idea [who he was] but I have a very clear understanding who Darren f**king Till is now. He was a big boy. He hit really hard, right in my nose, and I was like, ?Don?t do it again! Not in the face! Not in the face!,? says Cerrone.
Even though he announced a return to the lightweight division, a date for said return has yet to be announced by Cerrone or the UFC.
