Dustin Poirier Addresses Arrest, Notes That He Will Not Allow Alcohol To Ruin His Life

An update directly from Dustin Poirier.
Bodycam footage emerged of former UFC fighter Dustin Poirier getting into an altercation with a police officer at an airport in Atlanta, Georgia.
Poirier was not happy with an agent at the gate, and the situation heightened, leading to an officer getting involved and Poirier calling the officer out for a fight. Poirier ended up being arrested.
Taking to his Instagram Story, he noted that walking away from MMA has not been easy on him. He mentioned that alcohol ruined his father’s life, and he will not let the vice do the same to him.
“I’m at the point where I need some help, walking away from fighting hasn’t been easy on me and alcohol isn’t the answer. It has ruined my father’s life and I will not allow it to ruin mine, my family deserve me at 100%. I’m trying to do everything I can to get my mind right and take the right next steps”
MMA Fighting reported that Poirier was booked into Clayton County Jail and then bonded out a few hours later.
Poirier finished his MMA career with a 30-10 record. His last fight was at UFC 318 in July 2025, where he lost to Max Holloway via unanimous decision.
