Israel Adesanya On If He Plans To Continue Fighting: I’m Still Adamant That The Grass Is Green On This Side

Israel Adesanya comments on if he plans to continue fighting or if his fighting career will be soon coming to a close.

Adesanya has had a rough run of fights, currently going on a four fight losing streak in the middleweight division in the UFC. This has led to fans speculating if Adesanya will return to the Octagon in the future.

While speaking during Demetrious Johnson’s Mighty Cast podcast in the wake of UFC Freedom 250, Israel Adesanya spoke about the likes of Anderson Silva and Alex Pereira continuing to fight, answering the question if he plans to continue fighting himself.

“Anderson (Silva) is the guy that I think no matter what he does, his stock’s always going to be… Even if we take a hit, like I said, four in a row for me, no matter what. The equity, like you say, it might be down, but we still up than most people who even came into this game. That’s something that I don’t want to rest on because I’m not going to be like, well, I’ve done what I had to do. ‘I can lose now.’ Nah, fuck that. Also, my ego is very tied into this. I know what I can do still, and also, like, for me, this is, I don’t know if Alex (Pereira) is the same, because, again, look, it’s only one loss. He’ll be back. He’ll bounce back. But for me, I don’t want this to be the writing of my story, because I feel like, yes, I took part in this, but this is not what I wanted to write. This is not how I wanted to end. This is not how I wanted to conclude this chapter of my life. So that’s why I’m still… adamant that the grass is green on this side and I can tend to it, garden it properly and let it be lush and bloom properly.”

Earlier this year, Adesanya spoke about WWE’s Oba Femi. You can read more about that here.
