Eimantas Stanionis Withdraws From Next Fight Due To Hand Injury; New Bout Added To May 25 PBC Card

Unbeaten prospect Eimantas Stanionis will have to wait a while little while longer for his next fight after sustaining an injury.

Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) announced that Stanionis suffered a hand injury during training and has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming fight on May 25. That fight was going to be televised on the main card of the May 25 PBC card on FS1 from Biloxi, Mississippi. Stanionis competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics and in the pro ranks, the Lithuanian fighter has won all eight of his fights.

With Stanionis no longer fighting on May 25, PBC announced that a light heavyweight fight between Ahmed Elbiali vs. Marlos Simoes has been added to the broadcast.

Elbiali has not fought since knocking out Allan Green in the third round back in January, extending his win streak to two fights. Elbiali has lost one fight in his pro career which was a sixth-round stoppage loss to Jean Pascal back in 2017.

Simoes, a 30-year-old boxer from Brazil, has not fought since last December when he stopped Jefferson Luiz De Sousa in Brazil. Prior to that win, Simoes unsuccessfully challenged for the WBO Latino light heavyweight title in May 2018 when he suffered a 10th-round TKO loss to Manuel Ceballos.

The May 25 PBC on FS1 card will be headlined by a junior middleweight matchup between former world champion Austin Trout and Terrell Gausha. Also announced for the FS1 card is Chordale Booker vs. Wale Omotoso in a 10-round fight.
