Belal Muhammad was planning stepping back into the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo, facing Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos in a welterweight division affair. Unfortunately, a week before the fight, he was pulled from the bout due to injury.
Still, Fightful was able to talk to Muhammad before the withdrawal.
A move that Muhammad recently made was to bring on Ali Abdelaziz as his agent and the fighter says it was the best decision that could’ve been made.
“Man, its been amazing with him. Honestly, it was the best decision that I ever made…going with him. Just the little stuff that he does and just the different opportunities you get, when do you ever get to roll with your manager…its cool,” Muhammad said in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
The fighter knows that the Brazilian fans like their action and that’s what he had planned on bringing at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo.
“I feel like I match up really good against him, he’s more of a stand up fighter…he likes to bang, I like that. He’s been in a bunch of ‘fight of the nights,’ so I like that to. I knows its a guy that likes to be exciting, its not gonna be a guy that sits there and try to put you against the fence and hold you there…try to out point you and play the game that way or a guy that’s gonna be boring. I want to be in a fight where the fans are gonna be cheering in Brazil, they love action fights and that’s what we’re gonna bring…the action,” says Muhammad.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo took place on Saturday, September 22 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fightful will cover the event on Tuesday's Fightful MMA Podcast at 2 PM EST.
