Casey Kenney's first encounter with Tyron Woodley was a memorable one.
Kenney caught up with Fightful ahead of his quick turnaround against Nathaniel Wood at UFC 254. The bantamweight reflected on the time he came face-to-face with a compromised former UFC champion.
"I was making my debut in Philadelphia. We were at the host hotel. I got in the elevator and there stood Woodley and he was staring at his phone," Kenney begins. "He was just outside smoking a big blunt or something. We ride up to the top floor and get off. As we're getting off, he looks up from his phone and he's like, 'Man, I got to get off of here. I've been up-and-down this elevator four times.' Little funny story there if you catch the drift. I'll always remember that one."
UFC 254 takes place on Saturday, October 24 from Fight Island on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The pay-per-view card is headlined by Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje for the UFC lightweight championship. Keep up with Fightful for all your fight night coverage.
