Colby Covington talking sugar? It doesn't happen every day.
We've mentioned at Fightful how UFC Interim Welterweight Champion spoke glowingly of his experience backstage at WWE Raw in Miami recently. However, it wasn't just the atmosphere that made a good impression on him, it was another crossover star.
Covington told us he spoke to former UFC Champ and current WWE Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey backstage, and exchanged fight stories with her.
"She was telling us about all the promotion that led up to her fights, and how she wanted to sell fights and all that. She's a really humble person. I know she gets a lot of (flack) from the media about her antics and how she promoted fights, and she was always that girl that was in other girls' faces. Everybody says she's a snob, but she's a really humble person. She donates a lot, and she's just a good person. She was telling us about one of her sponsors, Twizzlers, and how she gives away Twizzlers to a lot of kids. She's one of the biggest names in WWE now. I'm excited for her success and wish her nothing but continued success," said Covington.
Colby Covington (14-1) wants to fight Tyron Woodley at UFC 230 in New York next and also talks about potential matchups against GSP and Nick Diaz.
