Nicknamed "Felony," the former "Krazy Horse" had a confrontation with Covington at a recent Cam Soda MMA event. When speaking to Fightful.com's James Lynch, Covington said things weren't as they appeared.
"That was actually Jon Jones. He just got off one of his crack binges, his cocaine binges. He tried to take a swing at me and fortunately my impeccable reflexes dodged it. Jon Jones needs to stay in his lane," said Covington.
Of course Covington still has issues with Mike Perry after he took aim at Perry's now ex-girlfriend following a fight Perry lost. Covington doesn't think that Perry is long for the world in the UFC.
"There's not really a beef there. There's different levels to this. Mike Perry will be fighting in Indian casinos by the end of the year, and I'll have the UFC gold around my waist," said Covington.
During a recent interview with Lynch, former Bellator MMA fighter Bubba Jenkins also spoke of issues with Covington. However, when Lynch approached Covington about the situation, he claimed to not have any info and even said he wasn't aware of such.
"I don't know who that is, so I don't know anything about that," claimed Colby.
It's worth noting that Bubba Jenkins has also trained at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida as well. Colby Covington referenced Jenkins' losses in Bellator MMA on an Instagram post, and Jenkins would later say that Covington had a "fake personality."
In the full interview, Colby Covington (13-1) discusses his interim welterweight title fight against Rafael Dos Anjos (28-9) at UFC 225 on June 9, as well as his disdain for Ronda Rousey's UFC run, and more.
