Veta Arteaga is set to challenge Ilima-Lei Macfarlane for the Bellator Women’s Flyweight Title this April at Bellator 220.

Macfarlane is undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and Arteaga believes it is going to be her mindset that ends the undefeated streak at Bellator 220.

“I respect anybody that fights in general, but I feel like it’s a mindset. I believe in myself, not that they don’t and I will definitely show that on April 27th,” says Arteaga to Fightful’s James Lynch during a media scrum at Bellator 214.

The champion comes into the bout having won nine straight and having already defended the title twice before.

Arteaga knows that heading into Bellator 220, it is going to be up to her to be the spoiler against the reigning champion.

“Yeah for sure (I’m playing the spoiler role) and I have good memories in San Jose, the last time I fought there…I had a great performance. I’m really excited to be back there,” says Arteaga.

Bellator 220 takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Rory MacDonald and Jon Fitch headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
