Francis Ngannou Wants To Fight Stipe Miocic At UFC 256

Francis Ngannou is next in line to challenge UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and Ngannou has a date in mind for when the title bout could go down.

The heavyweight contender says that he has requested December 12, or UFC 256, to be the date for the rematch with Miocic.

“I requested for December 12, which is the last pay-per-view of the year,” Ngannou to The Schmo (via Nicole Bosco of My MMA News). “Almost over two months from now and I’m expecting to have that date.”

UFC 256 does need a new main event after UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman withdrew from a title defense against Gilbert Burns. Ngannou, who was defeated by Miocic in their first meeting at UFC 220, says that what happened in their first fight won’t happen the second time around.

“Work a lot on my game and get a better training camp,” Ngannou said. “And that will definitely not happen again. When I look back to that fight, I see a lot of opportunities that I could have had if I really was well prepared.”
