Pitolo (13-6-0) has won just one of three under the UFC banner. His lone UFC win is over Charles Byrd at UFC 250. Pitolo competed this past weekend at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik, suffering a first-round submission loss to Darren Stewart. Pitolo also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 3, defeating Justin Michael Sumter by first-round TKO.

Kasanganay (7-0-0) will make his UFC debut with a nearly two-year-long undefeated streak. Kasanganay competed Tuesday on Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 28, defeating Anthony Adams by unanimous decision. Kasanganay has seen his last three fights go the distance and it has been over a year since he got a finish.

UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakic takes place on Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Anthony Smith and Aleksandar Rakic will engage in a three-round headliner. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
