UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is defending the gold against Paulo Costa next weekend in the main event of UFC 253 and he’ll do so as a brand ambassador for Puma.
That is because the UFC middleweight champion has signed a sponsorship deal with Puma and has become the first-ever MMA fighter to be a brand ambassador for the company.
“We’re ecstatic to be welcoming one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed athletes to the Puma family,” Puma Oceania GM Pancho Gutstein said in a statement obtained by MMA Junkie.”Not only is Israel a fearless and incredibly talented athlete, but his passion for dancing, fashion, anime, and his memorable personality makes him a standout individual to represent the brand.”
Adesanya also posted the following about the sponsorship deal on Twitter:
“Whoever said the sky is the limit, doesn’t know about the universe!” Hyped and honored to partner up with a BEAST in the game @puma”
