Jack Hermansson Says He’s Negotiating With UFC To Face Darren Till At UFC Fight Night London

Jack Hermansson was last seen in action in the main event of UFC Fight Night Copenhagen, suffering a second round TKO loss to Jared Cannonier.

A defeated Hermansson is ready to move onto the next opponent and that foe could be Darren Till, with their potential battle happening at UFC Fight Night London.

“For me, the fight that makes sense in Europe would be Darren Till because he’s also high ranked, just as me,” Hermansson told MMA Junkie. “He’s pretty fresh in the weight class. I think the fans want to see him against a couple of more (opponents). He had a great performance in his last fight with Kelvin Gastelum, so I think that’s a name that sticks out and a name that I would love to be fighting. And to be doing it in Europe, especially in his home country, I think that would be the perfect arena. We’ve been talking to the UFC and they agreed that it could be a good fight over there, so we’ll see what happens. We’re just early in the talks and hopefully we can start a process and make the fight happen.”

Hermansson isn’t the only fighter who wants to fight Till in London, as former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker has expressed an interest in fighting him as well.

Till made his middleweight division debut by defeating Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244, but Hermansson says he provides a different challenge than Gastelum did.

“I have a little bit of a different stature than Gastelum, a little bit of a different style,” Hermansson said. “Darren Till is a southpaw. I’ve been fighting a lot of southpaws before, so it’s going to be interesting to go back to the drawing board and apply a little bit more of those techniques against a southpaw. I think it would be an interesting fight between us. Till likes to come forward, I like to come forward – so I think it’s a good clash of styles.”

UFC Fight Night London takes place on Saturday, March 21 from the 02 Arena in London, England with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
