Jared Gooden Injured, Off UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar

Jared Gooden has suffered an injury and has been pulled from a bout against Dwight Grant at UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar.

The fighter announced the news on Instagram:

MMA Fighting also reports that the promotion is seeking a replacement opponent for Grant to fight at the event.

Grant (10-2-0) has won two of three fights under the UFC banner, with those wins came over Carlo Pedersoli Jr. and Alan Jouban. Grant is competing for the first time in over a year. His last appearance came at UFC 236 in April 2019. Grant also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 10, defeating Tyler Hill by second-round knockout.

UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs. Edgar is set for Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pedro Munhoz and Frankie Edgar will lead the card. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event. The broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
