Joanna Jedrzejczyk Talks Title Shot Stakes In Rematch With Zhang Weili At UFC 275: "I'm Not Surprised"

Former UFC strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, expected a title shot to be on the line in her rematch with fellow former strawweight champ, Zhang Weili, at UFC 275 this Saturday night.

Jedrzejczyk spoke with reporters at the media day for this weekend's pay-per-view event in Singapore and gave her reaction to UFC President Dana White stating in a recent interview with MMA Undeground's John Morgan that the winner of the Jedrzejczyk-Weili rematch would go on to receive the next title shot at 115 pounds.

“I’m not surprised. I knew that,” Jedrzejczyk said (h/t MMA Fighting). “I would not sign an agreement for this fight if I didn’t know that I was going to be next after winning. So yeah, I knew that. I’m not surprised. It’s good. I feel like we both deserve [it]. Big fights only. She’s (Weili) one of the best. She made it to the league, she was the champ, we made it. So she’s the best. Even after her two losses, she proved that she’s one of the best, one of the toughest in this division. I know there’s lots of talk about other girls, who should get the title shot, but there are girls and then we show up. Me, Weili, Rose, we put on a hell of a fight every time, you know. And this is what this business is about. It’s not about boring fights, it’s not about just fights, it’s about being the best every single time you step in there. That’s the thing.”
