Joe Rogan Apologizez For Claiming “Left-Wing People” Started Portland Fires

Joe Rogan is apologizing for an incorrect statement he made about the Portland fires.

Portland, Oregon is dealing with wildfires right now that have done damage to both the land and to the people that live there. UFC color commentator Joe Rogan said on a recent edition of The Joe Rogan Experience that “left-wing people” started the wildfires in Portland.

“They’ve arrested left-wing people for lighting these forest fires,” Rogan said (via Karim Zidan of Bloody Elbow). “You know, air-quote, ‘activists.’ This is also something that’s not widely being reported.”

The FBI would quickly issue a statement refuting Rogan’s claims, saying that conspiracy theories and misinformation take away from those battling the wildfires.

“Conspiracy theories and misinformation take valuable resources away [from] local fire and police agencies working around-the-clock to bring these fires under control. Please help our entire community by only sharing validated information from official sources.”

Rogan subsequently apologized on Twitter.

According to the NPR, a total of 14 people have died in the recent California and Portland wildfires.
