John Kavanagh Says Conor McGregor Is Retired, Can’t Talk Him Into Doing Anything

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor announced another retirement a short time after UFC 250.

John Kavanagh has been McGregor’s coach for the majority of his professional MMA career and the coach says McGregor is really retired.

“Is Conor retired? Yes, he is as far as I can tell,” Kavanagh said during an Instagram Live Q&A (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “That’s what he said isn’t it?”

McGregor stated that the reason that he retired again from professional MMA competition was due to the lack of exciting fights.

The former two division UFC champion has unretired multiple times before and Kavanagh says he can’t convince McGregor to do anything right now.

“I can’t convince Conor to do sh*t,” Kavanagh said. “Conor will tell Conor what he’s gonna do. And who knows what’s going to happen in the future. But as for now, he’s retired.”

If McGregor does stay retired this time around, it would mean that McGregor retires with a 22-4-0 professional MMA record, while also holding multiple titles in both the UFC and Cage Warriors.
