Jon Jones Shoots Wild Boar From Helicopter, Responds To Backlash

Jon Jones responds to backlash after posting a video of himself shooting a wild board from a helicopter.

Newly beefed up UFC heavyweight Jon Jones went hunting over the weekend with members of the Operational Defense Institute, including Medal of Honor winner Patrick Payne, and others.

While this style of hunting isn't traditional and seems more viscerally offensive to the uninitiated, however boar hunting in this fashion is quite common, and a way of culling an invasive species. Naturally, this did lead to Jones receiving blowback in the form of numerous replies on his Instagram.

Jones responded to the backlash and mostly doubled-down on his actions.

"I apologize if this video makes some of you guys uncomfortable. At the same time, I'm excited for my shipment of meat to get to Albuquerque," he wrote. "I took my time with that first shot to make sure the animal did not suffer. Bet half you guys that are offended eat sausage and bacon on a weekly basis."
