Jorge Masvidal Says Negotiations Have Begun For Nate Diaz Fight, Dana White Says No Progress Has Been Made

Nate Diaz recently returned after a two-plus year break from competition to score a unanimous decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 241

A victorious Diaz seemingly called out Jorge Masvidal after the win and Masvidal says negotiations have begun for a potential bout.

?I?m from Miami-Dade county,? Masvidal said on his Youtube channel (via Steven Marrocco of MMA Junkie). ?I?m a dirty south goon ? damn right, I ain?t no West Coast gangster. And I?m ready. I?m ready to put it on the line. And I?m so gangster with it, we can do it ? besides the 7 percent tax in Cali ? we can do it in Cali.?

Masvidal was last seen in action at UFC 239, scoring a five second knockout win over Ben Askren.

UFC President Dana White, despite wanting to see the fight happen, says no progress has been made with either fighter.

?Why, did I say I was doing Diaz and Masvidal on Saturday (at the UFC 241 post-event news conference)?? White said after the weeks Contender Series (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). ?Well ? they asked me, and I said, ?Who doesn?t want to see that fight?' No, no progress.?

There is no word yet on when the potential bout could come together, as both fighters have competed within the last two months.
