Jorge Masvidal Willing To Defend BMF Title As Long As Opponent Puts Something On The Line

Jorge Masvidal became the BMF Champion when he defeated Nate Diaz by third round TKO in the main event of UFC 244.

The champion is willing to put the gold on the line, but whomever challenges him must also put something up for grabs as well.

“You guys know I’m a gambling man,” Masvidal said during a UFC 246 media session (via Alexander K. Lee of MMA Fighting). “If somebody wants this one right here, you’ve got to put something up worth collateral. Something that makes me go, ‘Yeah, that makes it worth me putting this up.’ I’m not just gonna put this up for somebody to win and me to not win nothing after I baptize them. You’ve got to give me something if I end your ass. It can be financial, it can be many things. Maybe certain individuals don’t even get to speak or do an interview if I whoop their ass the right way, s*it like that. I work for the community, so I know for a lot us certain people shouldn’t be talking no more.”

UFC President Dana White previously stated that the title was a one time thing, but those plans could be changing if Masvidal has his way.

There is no word yet on when Masvidal will return to action, as the fighter is coming off of an excellent 2019, where he defeated Darren Till, Ben Askren and the aforementioned Diaz in that one year span.
