Former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo lost his title the first time to current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor at UFC 194.
When it comes to the rift between McGregor and retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi, the Brazilian says its McGregor’s lack of respect for others that caused the problems.
“McGregor has no respect for the sport, for the person. That’s it. He’s not good for the sport,” Aldo said to Fight Hype.
Aldo has since regained the title after beating former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 200, but would then lose it to Max Holloway at UFC 212.
The Brazilian is also a firm believer that when McGregor is done with his super fight against Floyd Mayweather, that he is never going to compete in MMA again.
“With the money he will get from this fight, he will never fight again. Not MMA, not boxing, nothing,” says Aldo.
McGregor has only issued a single statement on his sparring sessions with Malignaggi. In that statement, the UFC Lightweight Champion says the retired boxer got his butt whipped. Malignaggi continues to speak out against McGregor, even saying the Irishman whimpers like a schoolgirl when getting hit with body shots.
