MMA Fighting first reported the fight.

Holloway (18-3-0) is making the first defense of his championship, which was won by defeating Aldo in their first encounter at UFC 212. Holloway is also a former UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis to win that belt at UFC 206. Holloway also enters the fight riding an eleven fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over four years.

Aldo (26-3-0) was supposed to fight Ricardo Lamas at UFC On Fox 26, but Lamas will now have to fight somebody else. Aldo was the first ever UFC Featherweight Champion and he defended the gold seven times in the promotion before losing it to Conor McGregor at UFC 194. Aldo is also a former UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, defeating Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 to win that belt.

UFC 218 takes place on Saturday, December 2 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan with Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
