Jose Aldo is back with an important win over Marlon Vera at UFC Vegas 17.
Aldo scored a clear and decisive unanimous decision win against Vera on Saturday's card. Additionally, Marcin Tybura opened the main card by TKOing Greg Hardy. Watch the highlights below.
Jose Aldo def. Marlon Vera via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Trying to bounce back from two consecutive losses, and register his first win as a bantamweight, former champion Aldo looked incredibly strong while posting a dominant victory over Marlon "Chito" Vera.
Michel Pereira def. Khaos Williams via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
In a fight that didn't quite live up to the excitement it promised on paper, the creative Pereira won a back and forth bout. For once, Pereira showed a much more measured approach, didn't backflip even once, and still found his way to a close decision victory.
Rob Font def. Marlon Moraes via TKO (3:47, R1)
After being taken down early in the first round, Font worked his way back to his feet, and then staggered Moraes with a jab, and closed the show after some short and brutal ground and pound.
Marcin Tybura def. Greg Hardy via TKO (4:31, R2)
Hardy came out strong showing off his improved standup game, but everything turned around in the second round when Hardy started to slow. After the round break, Tybura's consistent aggressive approach eventually put Hardy on his back, and after a short ground and pound it was all over.
