“I feel like this isn’t real right now, that I’m in some freakin’ nightmare,” Benavidez said after the fight (via Dave Doyle of MMA Junkie).

Benavidez was the only fighter eligible in the main event to become the UFC Flyweight Champion, as Figueiredo missed weight for the event.

One thing that Benavidez knows is that fighter go through their ups and their downs and Benavidez is on a down slope right now.

“Everyone is going through ups and downs everywhere, this is mine, it’s  on display. Lucky to be alive I guess, but I worked my ass off for that and it didn’t go great,” says Benavidez.

There is no word yet on what’s next for Benavidez, who is now 0-3-0 when challenging for the UFC Flyweight Championship.
