Junior Dos Santos Doesn’t Understand Brock Lesnar’s Drawing Power

MMA

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos defeated Tai Tuivasa by second round TKO in the main event of UFC Fight Night Adelaide.

Another former UFC Heavyweight Champion in Brock Lesnar is expected to return to action in 2019, but JDS doesn?t understand why Lesnar has drawing power.

?The way I understand is that?s what Daniel Cormier wants to do to make money,? Dos Santos said at the UFC Fight Night Adelaide post-fight press conference. ?So somehow, people want to see that, because if they pay to see that it?s gonna be interesting for the UFC, of course. Somehow, Brock Lesnar sells. Somehow they want to see him fighting. I don?t know why. Why? Because he says stupid things? Because he?s a big guy who says stupid things? It doesn?t really make much sense for me. Even because he doesn?t deserve to fight for the title. He has no record for that. Also, because, man, he was out because USADA took him out. Not because he wants. USADA took him out and now he?s gonna come back and fight for the title. If MMA is a sport, a real sport, it doesn?t make any sense. But like I said, if people want to see that, we have to give [it to] them.?

Lesnar and JDS were supposed to fight after being coaches on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 13, but health issues on Lesnar?s end kept that bout from happening.

Dos Santos won?t stay focused on Lesnar for very long because his sights are set on a rematch with Alistair Overeem.

?I see myself winning all those fights,? Dos Santos said. ?So, I think this rematch would make a lot of sense now. Overeem is a smart guy. Every time he asks for something, it?s because he thinks it?s going to be better for him. I don?t do that type of shit. I?m asking for him because it makes sense. In my mind, it makes sense to do this rematch right now.?

Overeem defeated JDS by second round TKO at UFC On Fox 17 in December of 2015 and has won four of seven since that encounter.
