Justin Gaethje On Khabib Nurmagomedov: “I Want Him To See His Blood”

Justin Gaethje is one of those just bleed guys, it seems.

UFC interim lightweight champion Gaethje and UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will clash in the main event of UFC 254. Gaethje doesn’t just want to defeat Nurmagomedov when they clash next month, but he also wants to make the lightweight champion bleed.

“I know I’m going to see his blood. I want him to see his blood and I want to see his reaction. He isn’t as crazy as me, that’s the thing,” Gaethje said to Brett Okamoto of ESPN (via Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com). “I think he is crazy and loves competition but he isn’t quite as crazy as me. He also hasn’t seen his blood many times, I’m sure. His style of fighting is not something where you are looking for blood. I bet that doesn’t even cross his mind that he will see his own blood. That has never been a factor for him.”

There is a good chance that one or both of the fighters will bleed when they meet at UFC 254, as Gaethje and Nurmagomedov has a total of 28 combined finishes by KO/TKO.

UFC 254 takes place on Saturday, October 24 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
