The fighter, who was competing in what arguably the biggest fight of the fighter’s professional MMA career, admits that he froze up against Blaydes.
Willis admitted this via Instagram:
This will be my last post until certain things are fixed with myself, and my team. I will remain humble as I am in victory and also in my very LAST defeat of my career. Throughout my life things work once but they will never work twice. I will make 0 excuses but I must be honest with myself and my fans, I froze up! It will NEVER happen again. #godisgreat #brickbybrick #outworkthemall #beautifullyimperfect #bringit
A defeated Willis has now suffered the first loss of his UFC tenure, now holding a 4-1-0 overall record under the UFC banner. There was a lot of trash talk performed by Willis in the lead up to the heavyweight division encounter against Blaydes, with Blaydes even revealing that Willis had talked trash to his father during the weigh-ins.
