Following the medical withdraw of Luis Henrique from UFC 208 due to a previous eye injury, Justin Willis has agreed to step in on short notice to fight Marcin Tybura at this weekend's UFC 208 card.
Tybura (14-2-0) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, defeating Viktor Pesta and suffering a defeat to Timothy Johnson. Tybura is a former M-1 Challenge Heavyweight Champion, he defeated fellow UFC veteran Damian Grabowski to win the belt in 2014. Tybura started off his professional MMA career on a twelve fight undefeated streak, an undefeated streak that lasted over three years.
Willis (4-1-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he’ll be doing so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Willis is coming off of a lone appearance in the World Series Of Fighting, where he defeated Juliano Coutinho by second round TKo at the WSOF 31. Willis has also competed twice under the Inoki Genome Federation banner, where he defeated the duo of Yusuke Kawaguchi and Rizvan Kuniev.
UFC 208 takes place on Saturday, February 8 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Holly Holm and Germaine De randamie headlining.
