Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Cousin & Conor McGregor Exchange Coronavirus-Related Insults

It is no secret that the rivalry between two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov didn’t end after their battle at UFC 229.

Abubakar Nurmagomedov, in a now deleted Instagram post, would show Khabib choking out McGregor at UFC 229, while also posting the following statement (translation via Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow):

Max Holloway KO's Justin Gaethje In Buzzer Beater Throwdown Finish At UFC 300

“This is when you have the coronavirus and you can’t breathe.”

This is an interesting choice of words for Abubakar, as his cousin Khabib’s father is currently hospitalized after a battle with coronavirus that nearly left Abdulmanap deceased.

McGregor, never one to back away from trading insults with someone, would post the following in a now deleted Twitter post (via Andrew Richardson of MMA Mania):

“I figured it was all just a cover up about Abdulmanap. A cover up to hide the lack of activity and the pulling out of fights and running away. Good luck but remember - Allah sees all!”

Both Abubakar and Conor may have taken things too far, considering the millions of people worldwide that have been both diagnosed with the coronavirus and passed away due to the virus.
